Special Agent Bobbi - Special Needs Mom + Real Estate Agent

I am a real estate agent with Century 21 Redwood Realty, licensed in Virginia. I am also a Special Needs Mom. While I always believed in keeping my professional and personal lives separate, over time, I've found that many of my clients have been families with special needs. Whether those needs were mental, physical, behavioral or emotional, special care was required in the buying or selling of a home. My experience as a Special Needs Mom gives me a unique understanding of these families, and the skills I honed allows me to be the best advocate for my clients throughout the process. I am a true advocate for my clients from patiently educating them, to fiercely negotiating for them, to diligently managing every aspect of their transaction.

My Why My One-in-a-Billion Son

When I was pregnant with Ryan, my first child, he was diagnosed with congenital heart defects. At that moment, I became an advocate, a researcher, a negotiator, a coach, an educator, a planner, a multi-tasker and a special needs parent. My life changed forever.
 
After a traumatic birth, Ryan underwent his first open-heart surgery with he was 2-days-old, his second when he was 5-months-old and his third when he was 3. When he was 2 1/2, Ryan was diagnosed with Torg-Winchester Syndrome, a very rare bone disease. He is one of 12 reported cases worldwide, literally making him one-in-a-billion. There is currently no treatment and no cure.
 
Ryan is now 5-years-old, and he is a thriving kindergartener. He zooms around in his red motorized wheelchair, has 4 therapy sessions a week and fractures very easily, but he is an extremely smart, social, funny and sweet boy and brother to his 4-year-old sister, Arya. Although we have yet to find a doctor or specialist that has seen a case like Ryan's, we have found specialists willing to research his case and attempt to treat him at NIH and Shriner's Hospitals for Children. We continue to aggressively advocate for treatment options and research for advancements that can help Ryan.
 

My Pledge

From the time Ryan was born, we have been fortunate enough to have the best care for him. He's been treated at some of the foremost medical facilities in the world, many of whom treat children despite their ability to pay. That's why I donate at least 20% of every one of my commissions to a children's charity as a way to give back. Some of the organizations I support include:
  • Children's National Medical Center
  • Shriner's Hospital for Children
  • Children's Heart Foundation
  • Mended Little Hearts
  • Children's Cancer Research Fund
 
It is my goal to extend my contributions to additional charities as my business grows.
 

My Approach to Real Estate

Gone are the days when real estate agents would just list a home on the MLS, put a sign in the yard and wait for the showings. Today's successful listing agent needs to be creative, innovative and have a strong understanding of traditional and social media marketing. My 10 years of experience in marketing and communications for companies like the NASDAQ Stock Market and Alcoa have given me an arsenal of tactics and strategies to get my listings noticed. My listing package includes pre-listing marketing, a staging consultation, professional photos, video tour, 3D Matterport tour, a custom website, innovative open houses, professionally done brochures and flyers and social media marketing and advertising.
