Celebrate July 4th in And Around the DMV

We’re sharing some of the top spots for July 4th fireworks in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia regions. Take note – a few locales are choosing to celebrate the weekend prior, as the 4th falls on a Tuesday this year. Also, some celebrations have no admission price, while some do. Make sure to go to the venue’s website before you go to the event!

National Mall Independence Day Celebration Fireworks

Tuesday, July 4
 
Starting the list in our nation’s capital, the National Park Service organizes a breathtaking fireworks display each year at the National Mall. The fireworks are set off from the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, and the Mall offers a great view of the spectacle.
 
Plan to head out early, as the whole day will be devoted to celebrating the birth of our nation. Arts and crafts exhibits, big-name concerts, food booths, and one of the city’s largest parades will take place in D.C. You also can listen to a reading of the Declaration of Independence at the National Archives and see the National Symphony Orchestra perform on the west steps of the U.S. Capitol.
 

Fourth in Fredericksburg

Historic Fredericksburg, Va. offers a day-long celebration punctuated by fireworks at 9 p.m. at the Virginia Credit Union Stadium.
 
Get up bright and early if you want to catch (or run in) the Annual Fallen Heroes 5-Miler Race which starts at 7:30 a.m. The Fourth in Fredericksburg Arts & Crafts Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. is a rain-or-shine outdoor festival. The festival area will also host food and drink vendors, music, and entertainment activities throughout the day including a Presentation of the Colors at noon, Storytime at the Tavern where costumed interpreters will tell stories of the American Revolution, and more.
 

4th of July Celebration at the Washington D.C. Temple Visitors’ Center

The Washington D.C. Temple Visitors’ Center will host a patriotic experience to celebrate America’s birthday. This event will feature some well-known performers including Nathan Osmond, as well as a Barbershop Quartet, John and Maren Lewis, the Washington D.C. Temple Choir, a String Quartet, and more!
 

Frederick’s 4th – An Independence Day Celebration

Enjoy the largest Independence Day celebration in Frederick County, Md., with two stages of entertainment alongside family-friendly rides, activities, food, and fireworks from noon to dusk. Entertainment will include local, regional, and national music. Food? Funnel cakes, Italian sausage, snow cones, pizza, pit beef, and more! Beverages? Lemonade for the kids; beer, wine, and spirits for the adults!
 

Jefferson County, W.Va. Fireworks

Saturday, July 1
The Amp at Sam Michaels Park

Gates open at 6 p.m. with live music before fireworks. Admission is free, but food vendors will be on-site including Papa’s Chicken & Ribs, Kona Ice, S&S Shows, Scoop Dawg, Haulin Butts BBQ, Makua’s Shave Ice, BC Catering Company, and F’N Flatbread. Entertainment provided by the Kelly Bell Band beginning at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks will follow the performance.
 

Independence Day BBQ & Celebration at Salamander Resort

Tuesday, July 4
5 to 9 p.m.
Middleburg, Va. Lawn
 
This ultimate Independence Day celebration is $90 for ages 12 and up and $45 for children ages 3 to 11. Live music, lawn games, and an All-American Buffet, featuring local ground beef Burgers, cut-to-enjoy Watermelon Station, and more.
 

Shenandoah Valley Golf Club

Indoor or outdoor seating is available. Advanced tickets are $55 for adults ($65 at the door) and $25 for children 12 and under. Ticket price includes entertainment, food, margaritas, and draft beer. DJ Bobbie Lytton will be in the banquet room and the Robbie Limon Band will perform on the Blue Mountain Terrace.
