Pride Block Party – June 8 - 17th Street NW, Washington, DC
Expect entertainment, food, and beverages from local vendors, food trucks, and restaurants along 17th Street and plenty of good vibes ahead of the Pride Parade later in the day. There are also two beverage gardens for those ages 21 and over to refresh and watch performers on the Block Party Stage.

Pride Festival & Concert – June 9 - Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC
America's Mainstreet, Pennsylvania Avenue, becomes Capital Pride central during the epic festival that lets DC's LGBTQ+ community truly shine. The festival offers entertainment across three stages, food and beverages, and a chance to meet with more than 300 exhibitors, including local and national advocacy groups. Entry is free and open to the public.

DC/DOX Film Festival – June 13-16
The new annual DC/DOX Film Festival will take place at theater venues across the District. Passes go on sale May 1 for four days of visionary documentaries and conversations with the talent behind dozens of innovative and acclaimed works of non-fiction storytelling. Locations include Edlavitch Community Center, Eaton Cinema, MLK Memorial Library, the National Portrait Gallery’s Nan Tucker McEvoy Auditorium, the National Archives, and the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team vs. Colombia – June 8 - FedExField, 1600 FedEx Way, Greater Landover, MD 
This international friendly match at FedExField in Landover, Md., marks the first time the U.S. Men’s National Team has played in the DMV since 2012. Both teams will be ramping up for the 2024 Copa America, so it’s bound to be an exciting matchup between two rivals.

Argentina vs. Guatemala National Soccer Teams – June 14 - FedExField, 1600 FedEx Way, Landover, MD 
Following the USA vs. Colombia match, the defending Copa America and FIFA World Cup champions Argentina will take on Guatemala in an international friendly match at FedExField in Landover, Maryland – a rare chance to see fútbol legend Lionel Messi work his magic!

Clipper Round the World Yacht Race Arrival & Activation – June 17, 21-23 - The Wharf, 760 Maine Ave SW, Washington, DC 
For the first time, the nation’s capital will serve as a host port and team partner for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, in which eleven teams must circumnavigate the globe under extreme conditions. Having begun their journeys in Portsmouth, UK last September, the fleet is expected to arrive in DC on June 17. Before the teams traverse the Atlantic Ocean to their next stop, there will be an exciting activation at The Wharf from June 21-23. Check out the Events DC website for more details.

Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle – June 22-23 - Pennsylvania Avenue (between 3rd & 7th Streets NW), Washington, DC
Rib roasters and sauce bosses show off their delicious wares during the Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle. Dozens of pit masters, local restaurants, and live music shut down Pennsylvania Avenue between 3rd and 7th streets NW for a lively street party. Cooking demos and free tastings make for a delicious (and filling) experience. Tickets start at $20.

Smithsonian Folklife Festival – June 26 – July 1 - National Mall, 2 15th St NW Washington, DC 
Every year, the free festival salutes different international cultures on the National Mall with craft exhibits, live music, and cooking demos. The 2024 edition focuses on Indigenous Voices of the Americas and specifically celebrates the National Museum of the American Indian, which turns 20 this year.

Boogie by the Barn at the Shafer Farm - June 1- 1606 Gapland Rd Jefferson, MD
The Burkittsville Preservation Association hosts its first concert series, 'Boogie by the Barn,' at the Shafer Farm (just outside of Burkittsville, MD) on June 1st, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (gates open at 1:00 p.m.). This event will feature an afternoon of old-time string band music from local bands The Gravy Soppers and The Dargan Benders. A food truck will be on site serving local food and local beer on tap.

Scotland Juneteenth Festival Heritage Festival - June 15-19 - Multiple Locations
Welcome to the Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival, the region’s most prolific cultural event focused on the celebration and support of the historic Black communities of Montgomery County, Maryland. Heritage Days: Artist Open Studios - June 30 - Sandy Spring Museum,  17901 Bentley Rd, Sandy Spring, MD                The Museum has resident artists who work on-site with metal, sculpture, painting, enamels, pottery, and more. Artists’ studios are a visual treat; three studios are housed in a converted 19th-century barn with exposed timber peg joints, and others are located around the grounds. Drop in from 1 to 3 p.m. to visit the artists and see their newest works in progress. We hope you will stop by and see the artists at work.

Cross Roads Music Fest 2024 - June 21 - Rebel Park, Dixie Lane, New Market, VA
The Town of New Market presents its 10th annual Summer Music Series: Cross Roads Music Fest. This event will be held at Rebel Park from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Admission is FREE. Food and drink are available for purchase. Bring a blanket or a chair and enjoy an evening of local music, food, and brews.

Illumination of the Bridge - June 29 - Natural Bridge State Park, 6477 South Lee Highway, Natural Bridge, VA 
A nearly century-long tradition continues as the Natural Bridge is bathed in light the last Saturday night of every month, April through October. Experience the 200-foot-tall arch as it is lit from above and below by dozens of lights, with the only sound being the murmuring of Cedar Creek running below. A tribute to the first light program at the Bridge conducted in 1927, come see for yourself the sight that has drawn people out to the park at night for over 97 years, time and time again.

Free Fishing Days - June 7-9 - All of Virginia
NO fishing license of any kind is required for recreational rod and reel fishing during these days. Also, during that time, facilities-use permits are not required. To increase angling opportunities, DWR has removed the restriction to fishing designated stocked trout waters for free fishing weekends.

West Virginia

Shepherdstown StreetFest - June 29th -  Shepherdstown, WV
This is a festival about all that is unique, artistic, and welcoming in Shepherdstown! Since 2005, StreetFest has been one of the best fine arts & craft festivals in the region, along with great live music and kids' activities, it is an event for EVERYONE!
